Senior FPGA/ASIC Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Senior verification engineer responsible for verification of FPGA and ASIC designs. Work with the verification and hardware teams to develop testbenches, verification environments, and support synthesis and place-and-route activities. Mentor junior engineers and coordinate technical and process work with onshore and offshore teams.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 5+ years of hands-on FPGA or ASIC development and verification experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include verification, RTL development, and hardware lifecycle support.

• Develop RTL and verification testbenches using VHDL, Verilog, and SystemVerilog.
• Design and implement UVM constrained-random verification environments.
• Perform static timing analysis, lint checks, and clock-domain-crossing (CDC) analysis.
• Support requirements capture, architecture definition, synthesis, and placement & routing.
• Provide technical guidance and process mentorship to offshore and junior engineers.
• Coordinate lab-based FPGA verification and hardware bring-up as required.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, with concise distinction of required vs nice-to-have.

• Must-have: Expert-level experience in SystemVerilog and/or UVM, or equivalent FPGA verification experience in lab testing or hardware design verification.
• Must-have: Substantial hands-on FPGA or ASIC development and verification experience (senior-level, ~5+ years).
• Must-have: Proficiency with VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog, and verification methodologies.
• Must-have: Experience with static timing, linting, and CDC analysis; familiarity with synthesis and P&R flows.
• Must-have: Ability to communicate effectively and mentor engineers across distributed teams.
• Nice-to-have: Experience designing for Xilinx devices.

Education Requirements

Degree in a STEM field is preferred (e.g., Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics) or equivalent practical experience in FPGA/ASIC design and verification.
