Senior FPGA/ASIC Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Lead verification engineer responsible for developing and executing verification environments and testbenches for FPGA and ASIC designs. Works across RTL, simulation, static analyses and physical implementation flows, and provides technical and process guidance to distributed verification teams.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 5+ years of hands-on FPGA or ASIC development and verification experience.

Responsibilities

Accountable for verification strategy, testbench development, hardware validation and mentoring team members.

• Develop RTL and verification testbenches using VHDL, Verilog and SystemVerilog.
• Create and maintain UVM constrained-random verification environments and test plans.
• Run simulations and perform static timing analysis, linting and CDC checks.
• Participate in requirements capture, architecture design, synthesis, and placement & routing.
• Lead verification planning, coverage analysis and debug for FPGA/ASIC designs.
• Support lab-based FPGA verification and hardware bring-up when required.
• Provide technical and process guidance to offshore and junior engineers.

Requirements

Must-have skills and relevant senior-level experience.

• Expert-level SystemVerilog and/or UVM experience, or equivalent FPGA verification experience in lab testing.
• Strong RTL simulation and testbench development skills (VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog).
• Experience with static timing analysis, linting and clock-domain-crossing (CDC) analysis.
• Substantial hands-on FPGA or ASIC development experience (senior designation, typically 5+ years).
• Experience with synthesis and placement & routing flows and hardware bring-up.
• Proven ability to lead verification activities and mentor distributed teams; strong communication skills.
• Nice-to-have: design or verification experience targeting Xilinx devices.

Education Requirements

Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) field.
