Senior FPGA/ASIC Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Senior verification engineer responsible for FPGA/ASIC verification, RTL simulation, and testbench development. The role owns verification strategy and execution, supports hardware bring-up and lab testing, and provides technical and process guidance to offshore and onsite verification teams.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Typically requires 5+ years of hands-on FPGA or ASIC development and verification experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include RTL development, verification environment creation, and coordination across design, synthesis, and lab teams.

• Develop RTL and verification code and testbenches using VHDL, Verilog, and SystemVerilog.
• Create and maintain UVM constrained-random verification environments and test suites.
• Perform static timing analysis, linting, and clock-domain-crossing (CDC) analysis.
• Support full hardware lifecycle: requirements capture, decomposition, architecture, synthesis, and place & route.
• Lead hardware bring-up, lab verification, and debugging of FPGA prototypes.
• Mentor and provide technical/process guidance to offshore and junior engineers.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and test teams to close verification tasks and resolve issues.

Requirements

Required and preferred technical skills and experience.

• Must-have:
  • Strong SystemVerilog and/or UVM experience, or equivalent hands-on FPGA verification via lab testing or design verification.
  • Practical FPGA or ASIC verification experience; proven debugging and verification execution skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and lead verification processes with distributed teams.
• Nice-to-have:
  • Experience developing designs on Xilinx devices.
  • Familiarity with VHDL/Verilog-based design flows, synthesis, and place & route.
  • Experience with CDC analysis, static timing closure, and hardware bring-up tools.

Education Requirements

Degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) is expected.
