Senior Foundry Supplier Quality Engineer

Role Summary

Interface with semiconductor foundries and internal Design, Product, and Test teams to improve product quality and manufacturability for TVS and AMW product lines. Support new product introductions, process transfers, technology development, and failure analysis in a high-volume wafer manufacturing environment.

Experience Level

Senior-level β€” 7+ years of relevant experience in product engineering, design, or foundry process integration.

Responsibilities

Lead foundry-facing quality engineering activities and drive continuous quality improvements across the product development cycle.

  • Serve as primary interface between foundries and business-unit engineering teams.
  • Work with Test, Product, and Design teams to remediate issues, improve test coverage, and optimize outgoing quality.
  • Support new process development and process transfers for TVS and AMW technologies.
  • Manage continuous improvement via data analysis, root cause identification, and corrective / preventive actions.
  • Correlate Wafer Sort, Process Evaluation, and Final Test data to drive quality enhancements.
  • Participate in and drive DFM, DFT, and FMEA activities across DE/PE/TE and foundry partners.

Requirements

Key technical and interpersonal skills required; a separate Education Requirements section lists degree and certification expectations.

Must-have:

  • Solid knowledge of semiconductor device physics and practical experience with TVS/ESD protection devices, diodes, bipolar, BCD, and power/analog CMOS process technologies.
  • Practical experience in fab process and fabless product engineering practices in high-volume wafer manufacturing and foundry process integration.
  • Ability to identify semiconductor device failure mechanisms and lead failure analysis investigations.
  • Experience correlating wafer sort, process evaluation, and final test data to inform quality actions.
  • Proven ability to analyze data and implement corrective/preventive actions; familiarity with statistical problem-solving tools.
  • Effective written and verbal communication in English and ability to interface at all organizational levels.

Nice-to-have:

  • Direct experience with ASMC or comparable China-based/analog-power foundries.
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies; Green/Black Belt certification desirable.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and managing multiple high-priority projects.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Applied Physics, Materials Science Engineering, or a related technical field is required; PhD is a plus. Desirable certifications include Lean/Six Sigma Green or Black Belt. (No "or equivalent" language was provided.)
