Role Summary

Join Arm's CPU Group to develop and apply formal verification techniques on next-generation CPU designs. The role combines hands-on formal verification work with shaping verification strategy and collaborating with design teams and formal experts.

Responsibilities

The role focuses on designing and deploying formal verification methods and integrating them into CPU verification flows.

  • Explore, develop and deploy formal verification techniques on CPU projects.
  • Define and implement formal verification strategies and best practices.
  • Work closely with formal experts and microarchitectural designers to identify verification targets and translate requirements into formal checks.
  • Provide hands-on support to write properties, set up proofs, debug failures and iterate on abstractions.
  • Influence design and verification decisions to improve overall quality and coverage.

  • 5+ years' experience applying formal verification techniques to complex digital designs.
  • Strong engineering mindset with attention to detail and rigorous reasoning.
  • Solid understanding of verification concepts, computer architecture and microarchitectural design.
  • Ability to translate formal concepts into practical verification solutions.
Nice-to-have
  • Experience with industry-standard formal tools and model checking techniques.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Tcl or Shell.
  • Knowledge of the Arm architecture and AMBA protocols.
  • Experience with assume-guarantee reasoning, invariants and abstraction techniques.
