Senior Firmware Engineer

Role Summary

Join the NIC Firmware team at NVIDIA's Yokneam site to develop and verify firmware features for network interface controllers used in cloud, HPC and storage systems.

The role partners with architecture and software teams to implement features in pre- and post-silicon environments and support system-level debugging and releases.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include firmware development, verification, and system debugging.

  • Implement new features in the core of NVIDIA NIC firmware in pre- and post-silicon environments.
  • Develop verification tests for advanced features within a complex firmware testing environment.
  • Collaborate with architecture and software teams to define, integrate, and validate features.
  • Troubleshoot and debug system-level issues across hardware, firmware, and software.
  • Contribute to maintenance, qualification, and release processes for a large firmware codebase.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items listed separately.

  • 5+ years of professional firmware or embedded software experience.
  • Strong C and C++ programming skills.
  • Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, with strong interpersonal communication.

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of network protocols.
  • Prior verification experience.
  • Real-time programming experience.
  • Knowledge of storage protocols.
  • Experience with Agile development methods.

Education Requirements

B.Sc. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
