Senior Firmware Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Chip Design PCIe Firmware team in Beijing as the first-line firmware representative for Chinese customers. Work on low-level C firmware for PCIe/network adapters and support post-silicon products through debugging, feature implementation, and automated testing.

Responsibilities

The role focuses on customer-facing support, feature development for post-silicon products, and collaboration across hardware and software teams.

  • Serve as first-line technical contact for Chinese customers: reproduce, debug, root-cause, and resolve field issues on shipping products.
  • Design, implement, and verify firmware features for post-silicon products in coordination with customers and the PCIe group.
  • Participate in feature verification, complex post-silicon debug, and release convergence toward official releases.
  • Collaborate with firmware, software, architecture, QA, and application engineering teams.
  • Improve and maintain automated testing and verification processes.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and professional abilities.

  • 5+ years of firmware design and development experience.
  • Strong low-level C programming and embedded systems fundamentals.
  • Proven debugging skills for complex post-silicon / embedded issues.
  • Fluent Mandarin and professional-level English for customer communication.
  • Independent problem solver with strong interpersonal and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Customer-facing engineering or support experience with networking / data-center customers.
  • Knowledge of networking, Linux, and scripting (Python).
  • Familiarity with hardware verification concepts and tools (C++, Python, Git, CI automation).
  • Experience collaborating with software and architecture teams on firmware integration.

Education Requirements

B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
