Senior Firmware Engineer

Role Summary

Join the QoS NIC Firmware team in Tel Aviv or Yokneam as a senior firmware engineer. You will lead a major firmware development effort while remaining hands-on in design and implementation.

The team develops networking firmware features for high-performance NICs used in large-scale data centers; responsibilities span pre- and post-silicon development, verification, and system-level debugging.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The role specifies 5+ years of professional experience and expects technical leadership on complex firmware projects.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, implementation, and verification of NIC firmware and QoS algorithms:

  • Research, design, and develop QoS and firmware algorithms to improve performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with architecture and software teams to define firmware behavior and interfaces.
  • Implement new features in core NIC firmware for pre- and post-silicon environments.
  • Develop and run verification tests for advanced features in a complex firmware testing environment.
  • Debug system-level issues and work across HW/FW/SW boundaries to resolve problems.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • 5+ years of professional firmware development experience.
  • Proven technical leadership on complex firmware projects and ability to make architectural decisions.
  • Proficiency in C and embedded systems programming.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to diagnosing and fixing complex issues.
  • Experience with system debug and familiarity with networking technologies and stacks.

Nice-to-have:

  • Knowledge of network protocols.
  • Real-time programming experience.
  • Experience coordinating across multiple engineering functions and reporting to executives.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science from a recognized institute.
