Senior Firmware Build, Release & CI/CD Engineer
Role Summary
This role owns CI/CD, build and release engineering for embedded firmware stacks across Arm server-class SoC programs. You will work with firmware, platform, validation and release teams to maintain build systems, automate delivery, and support partner and customer releases.
Experience Level
Senior — typically requires 6+ years in DevOps, build & release, embedded software, or CI/CD roles.
Responsibilities
Maintain and improve build, CI/CD and release engineering practices for firmware and platform software.
- Design, maintain and scale CI/CD pipelines for embedded firmware and platform codebases.
- Enable and configure repositories and workflows for firmware components across SoC programs.
- Automate firmware build, image generation, packaging, signing, versioning and artifact publishing.
- Manage distribution and release activities for TF-A, UEFI, SCP, bootloaders, Linux and platform software.
- Support partner and customer releases: branch/tag management, artifacts, documentation and delivery packages.
- Operate and maintain CI infrastructure, runners, build environments, automation scripts and tooling.
- Integrate static analysis, security scanning and compliance tools; debug build failures and integration issues.
- Implement per-patch, nightly and release validation, metrics dashboards and CI health reporting.
- Drive standardization of build and release processes and improve developer productivity via automation and documentation.

Must-have:
- 6+ years in DevOps / Build & Release / embedded software / CI/CD roles.
- Proven hands-on experience maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins or similar).
- Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, shell).
- Experience managing embedded firmware or platform software repositories and builds.
- Familiarity with firmware components: TF‑A, UEFI, SCP, bootloaders and Linux.
- Strong Linux development and build system experience (Make, CMake).
- Understanding of SoC architecture and embedded/platform software integration.

Nice-to-have:
- Experience with firmware signing, secure boot or trusted firmware workflows.
- Familiarity with containers (Docker), reproducible builds, static analysis and OSS compliance tools (e.g. Coverity, Black Duck).
- Experience building dashboards and test/validation automation pipelines.
