Senior Field Applications Engineer (FAE)
Role Summary
Provide technical support to Aerospace & Defense strategic and key accounts in EMEA, focusing on RF, high-speed data converters, MEMS and related systems. Act as the technical bridge between customers and Analog Devices product teams to drive design-in from early engagement through mass production.
Primary geographic focus: Italian and French Aerospace & Defense ecosystem and the Space market across Italy, France, and Spain.
Experience Level
Senior β typically more than 10 years of engineering or semiconductor experience.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include:
- Drive and manage early technical engagement, proposals, and evaluation activities with customers.
- Identify customer platform requirements and translate them into product and system recommendations.
- Provide hands-on design and specification support, including technical deep dives and evaluations.
- Coordinate with internal Business Units and Systems Engineering to solve customer problems and advance designs to production.
- Resolve technical issues throughout the sales cycle and take ownership of customer-facing technical actions.
- Support product definition and development by relaying customer feedback and application requirements.
- Travel to customer sites (solo or with Account Managers) for sales discussions, demonstrations, or onsite support.
- Maintain up-to-date product, technology, and system-level knowledge.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with customer experts and engineering management.
Requirements
Must-have skills and constraints:
- More than 10 years experience in engineering and/or the semiconductor industry.
- Prior experience with semiconductor requirements for Space applications.
- Experience with high-speed RF, high-speed data converters, and RF clocking.
- Understanding of radar, communications, space, and avionics architectures.
- Proven customer project management and strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; able to collaborate with global teams.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Available to travel up to 50% of the time.
- Driver's license required.
- Languages: Italian and French (C1), English (B2).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (BS/MS in Electrical Engineering).
