Role Summary

Field Applications Engineer (FAE) responsible for supporting NXP application processors, AI accelerators and related solutions for customer projects in the Shanghai region. The role drives customer design-in, demand creation and provides technical expertise to sales and internal product teams.

Responsibilities

Primary duties focus on customer-facing technical support, project coordination, and enabling product adoption.

• Promote NXP MPU/SoC and discrete NPU products and vertical solutions with sales and marketing teams.
• Serve as primary technical point of contact for customers and coordinate projects to ensure successful product integration.
• Provide technical support for customer product designs based on NXP products, including troubleshooting and optimization.
• Collaborate with NXP engineering and product teams to resolve customer issues and relay feedback for product roadmaps.
• Drive demand creation and customer design-in activities in coordination with business lines.

Requirements

Essential technical skills and experience required for the role, with several preferred areas listed separately.

• Must-have: Experience in machine learning, including LLMs and agentic AI.
• Knowledge of operating systems and experience with Linux kernel, device driver and BSP development.
• Experience in embedded hardware and software development.
• Good English communication skills, spoken and written.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with ARM Cortex-A cores or heterogeneous platforms.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with Android or QNX.
• Nice-to-have: Experience in the automotive hardware/software ecosystem (e.g., AUTOSAR, MCAL, functional safety).

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline (specified in the posting).
