Job Title

Senior Engineer, Test Process Development Engineering

Role Summary

Lead design and implementation of automated final-test processing solutions for semiconductor devices and assemblies. Coordinate equipment selection, process qualification, and process improvements with global test process engineers and external subcontractors.

Work closely with electrical test engineers and vendors to develop test hardware and standardized solutions; support ADI product development locations. Travel internationally as required (approximately 10%).

Experience Level

Senior; typically 5–10 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing automation or a related field.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Design, develop and implement automated final-test processing solutions (test handlers, contactors, docking and automated inspection).
  • Collaborate with product line electrical test engineers and equipment vendors to develop test equipment and hardware solutions.
  • Define process technology roadmaps to guide equipment selection for future product introductions.
  • Qualify new test processes at global test subcontractors and coordinate process development across US, Europe and Asia.
  • Investigate quality/yield issues related to device handling, contacting, or end-of-line inspection processes.
  • Manage project work independently and implement process improvements to existing automation solutions.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • 5–10 years' experience in semiconductor manufacturing automation or a similar field.
  • Strong computer skills; experience with CAD (preferably SolidWorks) and MS Office.
  • Familiarity with PCB design and fabrication processes.
  • Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills; project management experience.
  • Willingness to travel ~10% for domestic and international process development support.
  • Ability to interface with global operations and engineering teams to address capacity and cost-reduction needs.

Education Requirements

BS in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field required. Graduate work in Engineering or Business is desirable.
