Senior Engineer, Test Engineering - Product Development
Role Summary
The Senior Test Engineer will design, develop, and implement test methods, diagnostic programs, and test fixtures across product development and manufacturing to validate product performance and reliability.
This role leads test strategy, resource planning, qualification testing, and mentors junior engineers to improve test processes and reduce cost-of-test.
Experience Level
Senior β typically requires 5+ years of relevant experience in test engineering or a related discipline.
Responsibilities
Main responsibilities include designing test strategies, building test hardware and software, and driving qualification and continuous improvement.
- Develop and lead comprehensive test strategies and test cases across multiple product lines.
- Create and execute diagnostic programs to identify complex performance issues.
- Design and oversee development of advanced test fixtures, equipment, and complex PCBs for evaluation.
- Define and document standardized test procedures and setups to ensure repeatable results.
- Plan and coordinate testing resources, schedules, and equipment across projects.
- Troubleshoot complex system and equipment issues and lead resolution efforts.
- Lead qualification testing to meet market and customer requirements.
- Drive quality assurance and continuous improvement of test processes.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
Requirements
Core technical skills and experience required for successful performance in the role.
- Proven expertise in test case development and test strategy architecture for semiconductors or complex electronic products.
- Deep experience developing and executing diagnostic testing and failure analysis programs.
- Significant experience designing and building test fixtures, test equipment, and evaluation PCBs.
- Strong skills in writing robust test procedures and standardizing test setups.
- Experience planning testing resources, schedules, and equipment allocation across multiple projects.
- Advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities for systems and test equipment.
- Knowledge of qualification testing methodologies and quality assurance practices.
- Experience leading projects and mentoring junior engineers.
- Willingness to travel up to approximately 10% of the time.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
