Senior Engineer, Test Engineering - Product Development

Role Summary

The Senior Test Engineer leads design and execution of test and diagnostic methods for product development and manufacturing. This role drives test strategy, designs test fixtures and PCBs for evaluation, defines test procedures, and coordinates resources across projects while mentoring junior engineers.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The role typically requires 5+ years of relevant experience in test engineering or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

Work independently to develop and validate test solutions for new products and support qualification and production handoff.

  • Define and lead test strategies and methodologies across multiple product lines to ensure coverage and efficiency.
  • Develop and execute diagnostic test programs to isolate complex performance issues during development.
  • Design and manage production of advanced test fixtures and equipment for accurate measurement under demanding conditions.
  • Create and standardize test setups, procedures, and documentation to ensure repeatable results and compliance with standards.
  • Plan and coordinate resources, schedules, and equipment allocation across projects.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and resolve complex system and equipment issues.
  • Drive quality assurance and continuous improvement of test processes and methodologies.
  • Spearhead qualification testing to meet market and customer requirements and provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams.
  • Lead design and oversight of complex PCBs used in test setups and evaluation boards.
  • Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior engineers.

Requirements

Required technical skills and proven capabilities for independent execution and leadership in test engineering.

  • Advanced ability to architect comprehensive test strategies and apply novel test principles.
  • Deep expertise in creating and executing diagnostic programs for complex product defects.
  • Significant experience designing and developing complex test fixtures and test equipment.
  • Proven capability to write robust test procedures and standardize test setups across products.
  • Strong resource planning and project coordination skills for multi-project environments.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills on complex systems.
  • Experience implementing and improving testing processes to meet high quality standards.
  • Hands-on experience with PCB design for test and evaluation purposes.
  • Experience leading projects and mentoring other engineers.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred. The role typically expects 5+ years of relevant test-engineering experience and experience leading projects and mentoring junior engineers.
