Senior Engineer, Test Engineering
Role Summary
Senior Test Engineer on the Product Development team responsible for designing, developing and implementing test strategies, diagnostic programs, test fixtures, and procedures across multiple product lines. Leads test qualification, troubleshooting, and resource planning; mentors junior engineers.
Role requires on-site presence in Bangalore and limited travel (about 10%).
Experience Level
Senior level β typically requires 5+ years of relevant test engineering or related experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include designing and executing tests, creating test equipment, and ensuring product qualification and quality.
- Lead development and implementation of comprehensive test strategies and test cases across product lines.
- Develop and run diagnostic programs to identify complex performance issues during development and verification.
- Design and oversee development of advanced test fixtures, equipment and PCBs for evaluation and production test.
- Create, document and standardize test setups, procedures and specifications to ensure consistent, cost-effective testing.
- Plan and coordinate resources, schedules and equipment for multiple projects.
- Drive troubleshooting efforts to resolve complex system and equipment issues; mentor junior engineers.
- Lead qualification testing to meet market and customer requirements and support cross-functional teams.
- Develop and improve testing processes to meet or exceed quality standards.
Requirements
Core technical skills and proven hands-on experience required for this role.
- Advanced experience authoring and implementing test strategies and methodologies for semiconductor products.
- Deep expertise in diagnostic test development and failure analysis.
- Proven track record designing complex test fixtures and automated test equipment; attention to cost optimization.
- Strong ability to write clear, repeatable test procedures and documentation.
- Experience planning resources and schedules for multi-project testing activities.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills for complex analog/digital systems and test equipment.
- Knowledge of qualification test methodologies and driving qualification efforts across product lines.
- Advanced PCB design experience for test setups and evaluation boards.
- Leadership experience: leading projects and mentoring junior engineers.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (as stated). Noted preference for 5+ years of relevant experience.
