Senior Engineer, Technology - AMAIS
Role Summary
Senior Engineer on Micron's Technology-AMAIS team in Boise, ID, responsible for developing virtual system models (VSM), compact models, and digital twins across wafer, die, and package levels. The role applies computational modeling and AI techniques to accelerate design, technology, and product development and to provide predictive insights to engineering teams and leadership.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Typical experience: Master’s degree +3 years, PhD +1 year, or equivalent practical experience.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include model development, collaboration, and communicating predictive insights.
- Develop VSM, compact models, and digital twins for wafer, die, and package levels across technology nodes.
- Collaborate with global teams to design, validate, and deploy advanced modeling solutions that accelerate design and product development.
- Apply computational methods, generative AI, and agentic AI techniques to build robust models from sparse and high-dimensional datasets.
- Analyze modeling outputs and data to identify actionable insights; present findings to engineering teams and senior leaders.
- Deploy and validate models in Cloud and HPC environments and integrate outputs into engineering workflows.
- Document methods and results; prepare technical presentations and reports for internal review and external forums.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience, plus preferred qualifications.
Must-have:- Strong understanding of numerical methods, high-performance computing (HPC), and machine learning / AI algorithms.
- Experience with multiphysics and multiscale modeling methods and ML/DL libraries applied to high-dimensional or dynamic datasets.
- Proficiency in Linux, C++, and Python.
- Experience working in Cloud or HPC environments; familiarity with major cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS).
- Familiarity with SQL and data engineering practices.
- Exposure to semiconductor technologies or manufacturing processes.
- Experience in the memory industry.
- Advanced skills in multiscale structural modeling.
- Experience presenting technical content at conferences or external venues.
Education Requirements
Master’s degree plus 3+ years of relevant experience, or PhD plus 1+ year of relevant experience, or equivalent practical experience. Relevant fields include Engineering, Applied Sciences, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical disciplines.
