Senior Engineer, TD Device Characterization

Role Summary

Perform electrical device-level measurements and characterization for advanced memory and storage technologies. Develop and automate measurement/test frameworks, debug instrumentation issues, analyze device data, and deliver results to process, design, product, and reliability teams.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Preferred experience: 3–5 years of relevant device characterization or semiconductor experience (per preferred qualifications).

Responsibilities

Accountable for device measurements, analysis, and specification tracking across technology maturity stages.

• Setup and execute electrical measurements for multiple device types.
• Analyze measurement data and perform statistical analyses on early lots and wafers.
• Optimize device behavior and investigate device problems using measurement expertise.
• Track and improve device specifications through technology maturity stages.

Requirements

Key technical skills and experience required or strongly preferred.

Must-have:

• Strong background in solid-state physics, semiconductor processing, and device characterization.
• Experience operating and automating semiconductor instrumentation: parameter analyzers, LCR meters, oscilloscopes, pulse/waveform generators, wafer probers, ATE, and bench systems.
• Proficiency in software and operating systems used for measurement and analysis: Python, C/C#/C++, Unix/Linux, and relevant scripting (PJMP/JSL).
• Deep understanding of device operation in memory systems (NAND, DRAM, PCM, storage-class, cross-point memories).

Nice-to-have:

• Strong data analysis and experience automating data-analysis workflows.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and cross-team collaboration skills.

Education Requirements

Preferred: Master’s (M.Tech, MS) or Ph.D. in Electrical/Electronics Engineering. Relevant fields include Electrical Engineering, Electronics, and solid-state physics. The posting notes 3–5 years of relevant experience with these degrees.
