Senior Engineer, System-Level Design Verification

Role Summary

As a Senior Engineer in System-Level Design Verification you will validate full-system behavior of Tenstorrent AI silicon across large distributed compute platforms, focusing on connectivity, coherency, reliability, and performance of end-to-end AI workloads. This role is part of the verification team and works closely with hardware and software engineering groups.

This position is hybrid, based in Toronto, ON, Canada; Austin, TX, United States; or Belgrade, RS. Employment may be contingent on eligibility to access U.S. export-controlled technology.

Experience Level

Senior. The company may assess candidates at different levels during interviews and align offers accordingly.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include validating system-level functionality and measuring system performance for AI workloads.

  • Validate system connectivity, coherency, and full-system functionality across distributed AI compute systems.
  • Measure, analyze, and tune performance for end-to-end AI workloads to meet silicon targets.
  • Define and evolve observability, diagnostics, and system-level test frameworks.
  • Debug complex hardware/software integration issues in collaboration with hardware and software teams.
  • Align verification plans with silicon goals and product requirements.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications and skills for successful performance in this role.

  • Proven experience in system-level design verification focused on full-system behavior rather than only block-level verification.
  • Strong ability to analyze AI workload performance and correlate software behavior with hardware performance counters and bottlenecks.
  • Experience debugging interactions between hardware and software on distributed compute platforms.
  • Experience defining observability, diagnostics, and system-level test frameworks for large-scale systems.
  • Operational focus on reliability, observability, and production readiness.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with RISC-V or custom CPU architectures.
  • Background in silicon validation for AI accelerators or large-scale distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with profiling tools, performance counters, and workload-driven validation.
