Role Summary
Join the Wi‑Fi software team to design, implement, and test embedded firmware that runs on Silicon Labs Wi‑Fi ICs. Collaborate with architects, hardware engineers, and test teams to deliver robust, production-ready software and validation.
Experience Level
Senior — 5+ years of experience in embedded software development.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include firmware development, validation, debugging, and cross-functional integration for Wi‑Fi products.
- Develop and maintain embedded C/C++ software for Wi‑Fi ICs.
- Write and execute unit, integration, and functional tests to ensure code quality.
- Debug software and system issues using JTAG, GDB, logic analyzers, and similar tools.
- Integrate software with hardware, drivers, and protocol stacks.
- Participate in code reviews and drive continuous improvement of development practices.
- Support CI/CD and test automation efforts.
Requirements
Core technical requirements and desirable skills.
- 5+ years of embedded software development experience.
- Strong programming skills in C and C++.
- Experience with unit testing, debugging, and validation in embedded environments.
- Proven application of software engineering best practices: design, coding standards, code reviews, and maintainability.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and continuous integration workflows.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with AI-powered tools and technologies to enhance productivity and analysis.
Nice-to-have:
- Exposure to Linux kernel, device drivers, or open-source development.
- Knowledge of Wi‑Fi or other networking protocol stacks.
- Experience with RTOS-based environments.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
