Senior Engineer, SiPh Device
Role Summary
Device engineer to support Silicon Photonics device development and new product introductions in a 300mm wafer fab in Malta, NY. The role works with Technology Development, New Product Device Engineering, Test, Integration, and Process Modules to launch and improve electrical and optical devices.
Focus areas include device performance characterization, data-driven failure analysis, SPC controls, and collaboration with customer engineering to meet product targets.

Responsibilities
Core responsibilities for this role include device launch, characterization, and cross-functional engineering to improve manufacturability and product performance.
- Drive New Product Introductions for Silicon Photonics devices and define performance targets.
- Characterize device performance and analyze sensitivity curves for electrical and optical metrics.
- Manage NPI workload to support first-time-right launches.
- Develop and implement SPC controls and monitoring with Electrical Characterization.
- Perform data analysis and failure analysis to identify improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with Test, Integration, and Process Modules to implement cost-effective process and product improvements.
- Support customer engineering and contribute to process-module engineering to reduce cost and cycle time and improve robustness.
- Follow all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and workplace competencies; preferred items listed separately.
- Must-have: excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Must-have: strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills for multicultural teams.
- Must-have: experience designing, executing, and analyzing experiments.
- Must-have: knowledge of circuit design and test, solid-state device physics, and submicron FET architectures, and their impact on yield and product behavior.
- Must-have: ability to learn quickly and apply new technical knowledge.
- Nice-to-have: industry experience in circuit design, characterization, test, yield enhancement, or product engineering (preferred ~2 years).
- Nice-to-have: internship experience in relevant areas.
- Nice-to-have: working knowledge of semiconductor processing, process integration, and Silicon Photonics.
Education Requirements
Master's degree in Circuit Design, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field is required.
