Job Title
Senior Engineer, Research Science Engineering
Role Summary
Join the ADI global modeling team to develop and validate compact device models for high-voltage LDMOS, CMOS and related devices. The role combines device-physics research, hands-on electrical characterization, and compact-model development to support advanced process development.
This position is located in Bangalore, India and may require export licensing review for applicants who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
Experience Level
Senior-level (experienced). The posting is for an experienced engineer; no specific years of experience were stated.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include building and validating compact device models and performing device characterization:
- Develop compact models for LDMOS, CMOS, BJT, diode, resistor, and capacitor devices, with emphasis on high-voltage devices.
- Characterize and model inter-device parasitics, including parasitic bipolar transistor action and cross-coupling effects.
- Perform electrical measurements and instrument evaluation; identify limitations and improve measurement methods.
- Address multi-physics modeling needs (electrical, thermal, mechanical) where relevant.
- Model long-term device degradation for MOS and LDMOS technologies.
- Collaborate with global modeling teams across locations and produce technical reports and documentation.
- Travel as required (approximately 10%).
Requirements
Must-have skills and preferred additions for success in this role.
- Demonstrated device modeling experience, including compact-model development and validation (LDMOS, CMOS, BJT, passive devices).
- Experience characterizing inter-device parasitics and bipolar-related effects in monolithic silicon.
- Hands-on electrical measurement experience and the ability to troubleshoot and push the limits of instrumentation.
- Familiarity with SPICE-like circuit simulators and model integration into circuit environments.
- Nice-to-have: strong Python programming skills for data analysis and automation.
- Nice-to-have: experience with multi-physics (electrothermal, piezoelectric) and long-term degradation modeling.
Education Requirements
Minimum qualification: PhD in Electrical Engineering or Applied Physics with a strong device-physics background.
