Job Title

Senior Engineer, Research Science Engineering

Role Summary

Senior SPICE/device-modeling engineer on ADI's global modeling team, located in Bangalore, India. Responsible for development and verification of compact device models that support advanced process development and product design.

The role emphasizes high-voltage LDMOS and CMOS modeling, inter-device parasitic/bipolar coupling, multi-physics characterization, and hands-on electrical measurements.

Experience Level

Senior. The posting requires a PhD (see Education Requirements) and expects significant device-modeling and device-physics expertise.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop compact models for LDMOS, CMOS, BJT, diode, resistor, and capacitor devices with emphasis on high-voltage devices.
  • Characterize and model inter-device parasitics, including parasitics that produce bipolar transistor action.
  • Perform multi-physics characterization and modeling spanning electrical, thermal, and mechanical effects.
  • Model long-term device degradation for MOS and LDMOS technologies.
  • Design and execute hands-on electrical measurements; evaluate and push the limits of test instrumentation.
  • Collaborate with global modeling, process development, and cross-functional engineering teams to validate models and support product development.

Requirements

Must-have technical qualifications and expectations:

  • Strong device-physics expertise and practical experience modeling high-voltage LDMOS and CMOS devices.
  • Experience characterizing and modeling inter-device parasitics and bipolar parasitic behavior in monolithic silicon.
  • Practical, hands-on measurement skills and the ability to design experiments to validate models.
  • Experience with multi-physics effects (electro-thermal, mechanical coupling) and degradation mechanisms.
  • Willingness to travel for collaboration and measurement setup (approximately 10% travel).
  • Export-licensing requirement: the role may require export licensing review for access to technical data; non-U.S. applicants may be subject to review.

Nice-to-have:

  • Strong Python programming skills.
  • Familiarity with SPICE-like circuit simulators and compact-model implementation.
  • Experience with piezoelectric or electrothermal device behavior.

Education Requirements

PhD in Electrical Engineering or Applied Physics with a strong device-physics background. No alternative degree or "equivalent experience" language was provided in the posting.
