Senior Engineer, Process Engineering (Lithography)
Role Summary
The role supports daily lithography operations and projects across CMOS, Photonics and Power platforms at GF's Singapore fab. Primary duties include qualifying new processes and equipment, troubleshooting process issues, and driving yield, quality and cost improvements.
This position works with equipment, process integration and yield teams to stabilize processes, deliver production metrics, and close corrective actions.
Experience Level
Senior. The posting specifies at least 3–4 years of lithography experience in 200mm or 300mm fabs (preferred).
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Start up and qualify new processes and equipment within scheduled timelines; work closely with Equipment Engineering on equipment acceptance.
- Troubleshoot daily lithography process issues and lead projects to improve yield, quality, cost and manufacturing KPIs.
- Analyze pass-down data to identify chronic issues and implement improvement programs; act as technical consultant to Applications Engineers.
- Work with Process Integration and Yield Enhancement to improve process stability and margins for production.
- Analyze SPC/SEC charts, review split lots, DOE data, etch/test (ET), and sort yield using JMP and in-house systems.
- Raise and manage PCRBs: define qualification plans, analyze results, and close corrective actions.
- Follow up on SPSR, MRB, 8D, TECN items and coordinate specification updates with ECN.
- Keep projects and investigations on schedule and report progress and roadblocks to management.
- Author internal or external technical papers to share findings and improve industry knowledge.
- Comply with and implement applicable environmental, health, safety and security (EHSS) policies and procedures.
Requirements
Required and preferred qualifications and attributes.
- Must-have / core skills: Strong verbal and written communication; strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across cultures; ownership, self-motivation, attention to detail, and discipline.
- Shift availability: Willingness to work weekend swing shifts (Sun–Thu or Tue–Sat) and support overtime as needed.
- Technical skills (preferred): Experience analyzing SPC/SEC charts, DOE and sort yield data; familiarity with JMP or similar statistical tools.
- Process skills (preferred): Experience with equipment startup/qualification, PCRB/MRB/8D workflows, and ECN-driven spec updates.
- Collaboration: Able to work with equipment, process integration, yield and cross-functional teams to drive solutions.
Education Requirements
Degree required in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Science, Solid State Physics or other relevant engineering or physical science discipline.
