Senior Engineer, PPA Analytics & CAD

Role Summary

SiFive is hiring a Design Automation Engineer to develop PPA analytics, integrate CAD solutions, and automate physical-design flows to support high-performance SoC development. The role focuses on building data-driven PPA tracking, managing flow releases, and applying modern automation (including AI agents) to accelerate Physical Design execution.

Experience Level

Senior — 4+ years industry experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Build, maintain, and own a unified PPA repository and dashboards; develop PPA scaling methodologies.
• Manage integration of recipe changes and own internal flow release cycles.
• Collaborate with platform engineering to optimize and support the memory compiler flow.
• Integrate compiler-level and internal CAD solutions across Platform Engineering and Platform Technologies teams.
• Provide day-to-day support for Physical Design execution teams, including troubleshooting and flow stability work.
• Design and implement automation (including AI-driven agents) to accelerate PD tasks and tool development.

Requirements

Must-have:

• Proven programming and scripting skills, particularly Python and TCL, for flow automation and tool development.
• Hands-on experience designing and managing databases and visualization platforms; strong SQL and Grafana skills.
• Experience applying AI agents or modern AI tools to automate engineering workflows and accelerate coding tasks.
• Solid understanding of the digital ASIC design flow, specifically from Synthesis through Static Timing Analysis (STA).
• Practical experience supporting Physical Design execution and debugging internal flows and toolchains.

Nice-to-have / Preferred:

• Experience with version control (e.g., Git) and CI/CD practices for managing flow releases.
• Experience building complex data pipelines or handling large-scale engineering data for PPA optimization.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; plus 4+ years of relevant industry experience.
