Senior Engineer – PDE Process Control Systems
Micron TechnologyJob Title
Senior Engineer – PDE Process Control Systems
Role Summary
Senior engineer responsible for defining and aligning global Defense Line (DL) metrics and workflows, driving automation and AI enhancements, and ensuring consistent detection and disposition behavior across sites. Works with cross-functional teams (Product Engineering, Media Health, Global Quality, Advanced Packaging Technology Development, Test Systems) to improve detection, test coverage, and failure analysis processes.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Specific years of experience not stated.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include maintaining DL standards, improving automated detection and disposition, and supporting failure analysis and test program quality.
- Define and enforce global DL matrices (turnaround time, overdue metrics, detection compliance, Statistical Bin Limits reactions).
- Ensure global adherence to DL workflows and consistent DL signal behavior across sites.
- Drive automation and AI enhancements for detection and disposition (e.g., auto-contain, auto-disposition, SMAI-assisted detection).
- Monitor and maintain Assembly and Test specifications; review and release test programs.
- Improve DL systems via automation and optimization; specify analog values, SBL bins, and product-level ESD limits.
- Enhance test coverage and DL based on lessons learned, material review boards, and Failure Mode Registers.
- Perform failure analysis, failure-mode modeling, and correlate defense line signals with failure data.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to drive projects that enhance defense line capabilities.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and abilities for the role.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor device physics.
- Experience with device modelling and TCAD tools (e.g., Silvaco, Sentaurus) and compact modelling.
- Proficiency in circuit-level analog analysis and validation using tools such as HSPICE.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze electrical test data and perform rigorous root-cause analysis.
- Hands-on experience in data analytics, scripting, and statistical modeling (examples: Python, MATLAB, JMP, SQL).
- Effective communication and collaboration skills in multidisciplinary teams.
Education Requirements
PhD in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field preferred. M.Tech (Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related) with semiconductor industry project experience is also specified; preference noted for experience in packaging, test, and reliability. The posting references advanced technical degrees and domain-specific project experience rather than bachelor-level or certification-only requirements.
