Job Title

Senior Engineer - Modelling

Role Summary

Join Arm's Physical IP Design Enablement team to develop, validate, and deploy models for physical IP such as standard cells, embedded memories, and custom blocks. The role supports IP design teams, EDA vendors, and SoC integrators to ensure models are production-ready and compatible with downstream design flows.

Experience Level

Senior - requires 5+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with IP design teams, SoC teams, and EDA vendors to define modeling requirements and specifications.
  • Develop, validate, deploy, and support models for standard cells, embedded memories, and custom blocks within EDA flows.
  • Design and implement validation methodologies to ensure model correctness, quality, and compatibility with downstream flows.
  • Automate model development, validation, and release workflows using scripting and software engineering practices, including AI-assisted tools where applicable.
  • Investigate and resolve modeling and flow issues, coordinating solutions with internal groups and EDA vendors.
  • Continuously improve model quality, performance, development efficiency, and turnaround time.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and competencies:

  • Strong understanding of ASIC/SoC build flows: simulation, synthesis, DFT, ATPG, and logic equivalence checking using industry-standard EDA tools.
  • Experience with Verilog and SystemVerilog modeling and verification.
  • Solid knowledge of digital circuit fundamentals, logic composition, and gate-level netlists.
  • Automation and scripting skills (Python, Tcl, shell scripting, or Perl).
  • Analytical and debugging skills to investigate complex interactions between models and EDA tools.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and collaborate across distributed engineering teams and EDA vendors.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Memory BIST, ATPG, and low-power design methodologies.
  • Experience applying AI/LLM techniques to model development and workflow automation.
  • Familiarity with software engineering practices: Git/Gerrit or similar version control, continuous integration, and test automation.
  • Experience coordinating with geographically distributed teams and varying time zones.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent practical experience) in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. The posting specifies 5+ years of relevant proven experience as equivalent practical experience.
