Job Title

Senior Engineer, Mixed Signal Design Engineering

Role Summary

Design and verify analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits from transistor level through system integration. Serve as chip lead on projects, collaborate with layout, test, and cross-functional teams, and drive product development from requirements through lab evaluation and production release.

Partial telecommute benefit: up to 2 days per week work from home.

Experience Level

Senior β€” experienced individual contributor and technical lead. The posting specifies a minimum of two years of relevant engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities cover circuit design, verification, integration, and lab evaluation across product development phases.

  • Perform analog and mixed-signal circuit analysis, design, simulation, verification, and evaluation.
  • Define block-level performance targets derived from higher-level specifications.
  • Act as chip lead and lead analog or digital designer; perform chip floor planning and guide layout engineers during physical implementation.
  • Evaluate physical implementations to ensure design, performance, and reliability metrics are met.
  • Debug and characterize integrated circuits in the lab; identify and resolve design, quality, and test issues.
  • Document and present design and evaluation review materials to peers and stakeholders.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define project goals, feasibility, and timelines.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and demonstrated expertise. Degree and years of experience are listed under Education Requirements.

  • Demonstrated expertise across all phases of new mixed-signal product development: architecture selection, implementation, debugging, and evaluation.
  • Experience analyzing functionality and behavior of transistor-level circuit designs.
  • Domain expertise in at least one area: mixed-signal power IC design, RF IC design, or general-purpose analog/mixed-signal IC design.
  • Experience simulating and evaluating complex analog blocks and IC designs using Cadence and SPICE-type simulation tools.
  • Experience preparing and delivering technical materials and presentations to internal and external audiences.
  • Familiarity with formal design and verification techniques, and design-for-test and reliability considerations.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline (foreign education equivalents accepted) and two (2) years of experience as a Mixed Signal or Electrical Engineer or in a related occupation performing integrated circuit development.
