Senior Engineer II - Verification
MicrochipJob Title
Senior Engineer II - Verification
Role Summary
Senior PCIe verification engineer responsible for building and executing verification environments for next-generation data-center storage SoCs, including PCIe Gen5/6/7 memory controllers and PCIe/CXL-based devices. The role focuses on protocol-level verification to ensure silicon-ready designs used in storage, AI, and HPC systems.
Experience Level
Senior - expects 6+ years of RTL verification experience, including at least 2 years of PCIe protocol verification.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include defining verification strategy, implementing testbenches, and validating protocol behavior for PCIe/CXL IP.
- Define verification plans and implement UVM/SystemVerilog testbenches for PCIe Gen5/6/7 IP.
- Interpret PCIe protocol specifications and translate them into verification tests and checks.
- Integrate and configure third-party PCIe VIPs (e.g., Synopsys, Cadence) for Gen5/6/7 verification.
- Develop test cases, checkers, and functional and code coverage models aligned to the verification plan.
- Collaborate with firmware, emulation, and silicon validation teams; support pre-silicon and post-silicon bring-up and debug.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- 6+ years of RTL verification experience, with 2+ years focused on PCIe protocol verification.
- Strong hands-on experience developing UVM/SystemVerilog testbenches.
- Deep knowledge of PCIe Gen5/6/7, with emphasis on Transaction Layer verification and PCIe/CXL EP/RC features.
- Experience integrating and using third-party PCIe VIPs (Synopsys, Cadence).
- Familiarity with AMBA protocols (AXI/AHB/APB).
- Experience creating test plans, testbench architecture, and managing functional and code coverage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electronics, VLSI, or a closely related engineering field (e.g., Electrical/Electronic Engineering). (Degree specified in source.)
