Senior Engineer II - AMS Verification
MicrochipJob Title
Senior Engineer II - AMS Verification
Role Summary
The WIPD Group in Chennai develops and verifies next-generation wireless communication products. This role focuses on analog behavioral modeling and analog/mixed-signal (AMS) verification of IPs and analog macros, supporting pre-silicon verification and correlation to transistor-level designs and silicon.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Requires approximately 4β9 years of relevant industry experience in Analog/Mixed-Signal verification and behavioral modeling.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain behavioral models using Verilog-A, Verilog-AMS, SystemVerilog RNM or equivalent.
- Validate behavioral models against transistor-level (SPICE/Vams) implementations and silicon measurements.
- Create verification plans, test cases, and regression environments for AMS verification.
- Verify and integrate analog macros: ADC/DAC, PLLs, LDOs, bandgaps, comparators, oscillators, and clocking circuits.
- Perform subsystem-level AMS verification and correlation between behavioral and transistor-level models.
- Contribute to methodology improvements and adopt AI-assisted verification, modeling, and debug workflows.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred qualifications:
- 4β9 years of industry experience in Analog/Mixed-Signal verification and behavioral modeling.
- Strong understanding of analog circuit fundamentals and CMOS device behavior.
- Proven experience developing behavioral models with Verilog-A, Verilog-AMS, SystemVerilog RNM, or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience with SPICE simulations and correlation to behavioral models.
- Experience verifying analog building blocks: ADCs, DACs, PLLs, LDOs, bandgaps, comparators, oscillators, and clock management.
- Familiarity with AMS simulation tools such as Cadence AMS Designer, Spectre, Questa ADMS, or Xcelium.
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills; effective communication and teamwork in multidisciplinary teams.
- Nice-to-have: experience with AI-assisted verification workflows and integration with digital/RF/firmware teams.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Communication Engineering, or a related technical field.
