Senior Engineer I - Verification
Role Summary
As a Senior Verification Engineer in Microchip's Secure Computing Products group, you will verify complex blocks and subsystems within ARM-based SoCs. The role focuses on developing SystemVerilog/UVM test environments, driving coverage closure, debugging RTL and testbench issues, and collaborating with architects and designers to ensure end-to-end feature quality.

Senior β typically 4β6 years of experience in ASIC/SoC functional verification.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Own verification of complex blocks and subsystems within ARM-based SoCs.
- Perform block-level and chip-level functional verification.
- Define test plans from design specifications and implement constrained-random and directed tests.
- Develop verification environments using SystemVerilog and UVM.
- Integrate with RTL, perform simulation bring-up, and run regression suites.
- Generate and analyze code and functional coverage; correlate results to the test plan.
- Debug RTL and testbench issues; perform root-cause analysis and coordinate fixes with design teams.
- Contribute to AI/automation initiatives for regression management, coverage tracking, and debug automation.
- Collaborate with architects and validation engineers to ensure end-to-end feature completeness.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Continuously improve verification methodology, reuse, and efficiency.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Strong expertise in SystemVerilog and UVM methodology.
- Hands-on experience developing block/subsystem/SoC-level verification environments.
- Solid understanding of AMBA, USB, I2C, SPI, and eSPI protocols.
- Good understanding of digital design, RTL fundamentals, and simulation/debug flows.
- Familiarity with scripting for automation (Python, TCL, Perl).
- Programming experience in C or C++.
- Experience with Cadence, Synopsys, or Mentor verification platforms (asset).
- Exposure to AI/ML-based verification, emulation, or acceleration (plus).
- Excellent communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and debugging skills; ability to lead cross-site teams.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or a related field. The posting specifies 4β6 years of ASIC/SoC functional verification experience.
