Job Title

Senior Engineer I - Product/Test

Role Summary

Join the Operations Engineering team supporting electronics assembly validation, test architecture, qualification, troubleshooting, production scaling, yield metrics and lifecycle performance. The role partners with design, manufacturing, quality, reliability and failure analysis to deliver production-ready test solutions.

This position focuses on hands-on electronics testing, developing robust test plans and procedures, improving yield and reliability, and supporting new product introduction and sustaining activities.

Experience Level

Senior. Typical candidates have about 5–7.5 years of relevant experience in electronics product or test engineering, automated test, characterization, validation, qualification, yield, or closely related areas.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include developing and executing product test strategies and supporting production readiness.

  • Develop and implement test strategies, programs, hardware solutions, characterization plans, qualification activities and production test methods for new and existing products.
  • Investigate and resolve complex product and test issues using data-driven root-cause analysis to improve yield, quality and reliability.
  • Design, debug and troubleshoot hardware-level test protocols and systems using LabVIEW, Python and related tools.
  • Balance technical, quality, reliability, cost, schedule, supply chain and customer requirements to deliver effective test solutions.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align technical approaches and achieve product release and readiness objectives.
  • Review and approve test plans, specifications, qualification results, engineering changes and release documentation.
  • Provide technical mentorship and Level 2 technical support to test technicians and engineering teams.
  • Identify, qualify and implement measurement, functional testing, monitoring, calibration and environmental equipment needed for production testing.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, eligibility and professional behaviors required for the role.

  • 5–7.5 years of hands-on experience in electronics product/test engineering, automated test, production test, characterization, validation, qualification, yield analysis, or closely related work.
  • Proven root-cause analysis and structured debugging skills; strong analytical and engineering judgment.
  • Proficiency with test and automation software such as LabVIEW and Python; familiarity with scripting and test frameworks.
  • Experience with statistical and data analysis applied to yield, reliability and manufacturing data.
  • Experience troubleshooting analog, digital and mixed-signal PCBAs down to component level and supporting NPI/production ramp is preferred.
  • Ability to make tradeoffs among technical, cost, schedule and quality constraints and to communicate recommendations clearly to stakeholders.
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration and demonstrated employment stability and accountability.
  • Must meet U.S. export control eligibility: ability to access technology controlled under EAR/ITAR; proof of U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or protected individual status may be required.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or a closely related field is listed as the minimum. Equivalent advanced technical background (for example in frequency and timing systems) may be considered in lieu of academic certification.
