Role Summary

Join Microchip's Security and Computing Group to lead product support and new product development for security and computing semiconductor products. The role coordinates global engineering, applications, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful product launches and stable mass production.

Responsibilities

Accountable for product support, qualification, and ramping new semiconductor products into production.

  • Support new product development from design through mass production and ramp to volume.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (applications, quality, manufacturing, supply chain, R&D) for product launches and issue resolution.
  • Lead failure analysis and customer return investigations with Applications and Quality Engineering.
  • Interface with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve technical (fab, test, design) and non-technical manufacturing issues.
  • Prepare and manage project schedules, validation, characterization, qualification, and material control plans.
  • Manage development of burn-in PCB boards and supporting hardware/software for product qualification.
  • Analyze production yields and yield limiters; drive continuous improvement in quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Support foundry and assembly migration efforts to increase capacity for commercial, industrial, and automotive markets.
  • Coordinate with global teams across time zones; travel up to 25% as needed.

Requirements

Key technical and interpersonal skills required and preferred.

  • Must-have: Outstanding written and verbal communication; ability to communicate effectively across planning, customer support, and R&D groups.
  • Must-have: Ability to manage and track multiple parallel tasks to completion.
  • Must-have: Strong analytical skills to interpret validation data, ATE datalogs, and fab electrical test results.
  • Must-have: Hands-on experience with bench laboratory equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, meters).
  • Must-have: Ability to read and decipher PCB schematics.
  • Must-have: Flexibility to communicate across time zones.
  • Nice-to-have: Semiconductor packaging technology knowledge.
  • Nice-to-have: Automotive support experience, particularly die and package qualification.

Education Requirements
