Senior Engineer I - Device and Test

Role Summary

Hands-on electrical engineer responsible for device characterization, automated test development, and engineering analysis to support product development and reliability for semiconductor products. Work involves lab measurements, instrument control, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration with process, design, manufacturing, and reliability teams.

Onsite role in Chandler, AZ. No travel; work is 100% inside during normal business hours.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Typical experience: 5–7 years in semiconductor device characterization, testing, or related engineering roles.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Perform electrical/parametric characterization of semiconductor devices and wafers.
  • Develop and maintain automated test programs and instrument control for parametric measurements.
  • Troubleshoot complex test issues and support failure analysis and reliability investigations.
  • Analyze device behavior, extract engineering insights, and produce clear data visualizations and reports.
  • Collaborate with process, design, manufacturing, and reliability teams to support product development.
  • Build and improve automation and data-analysis tools to streamline testing and reporting.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • 5–7 years of relevant industry experience with semiconductor devices and parametric testing.
  • Experience with wafer probing and parametric measurement equipment; solid understanding of semiconductor physics and electrical device behavior.
  • Proficiency developing automation and data-analysis tools in Python and C.
  • Hands-on experience with instrument control and test hardware (probe stations, SMUs, low-current measurements) is expected.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a lab environment and in cross-functional teams.
  • Preferred familiarity with version control and engineering tools such as Git, LabVIEW, and SQL.
  • Preferred experience with semiconductor reliability mechanisms (BTI, HCI, TDDB, electromigration) and leakage analysis.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
