Senior Engineer, HBM Layout

Role Summary

Layout design engineer on the High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) team responsible for block- and full-chip physical layout for high-performance applications (AI, HPC).

The role partners with global engineering teams to deliver layout integration, verification, and on-time tape-out support across multiple concurrent projects.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The posting specifies a minimum of 5+ years of experience in analog/custom layout design in advanced CMOS processes.

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality layout deliverables and coordinate across teams to meet project milestones.

• Design and develop analog, mixed-signal and custom digital blocks; support full-chip integration.
• Perform physical verification tasks including LVS, DRC, antenna checks and documentation.
• Lead planning activities: area/time estimation, scheduling, delegation and execution for multiple projects.
• Ensure on-time delivery of block-level layouts with required quality standards.
• Communicate effectively with global engineering teams to resolve layout and integration issues.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and practical experience for immediate contribution.

• 5+ years of experience in analog/custom layout design in advanced CMOS processes (Planar, FinFET).
• Proven hands-on experience creating layouts for critical analog/mixed-signal blocks (temperature sensors, PLL, ADC, DAC, LDO, bandgap, reference generators, charge pumps, current mirrors, comparators, differential amplifiers).
• Expertise with Cadence VLE/VXL and Mentor Graphics Calibre DRC/LVS.
• Solid knowledge of analog layout fundamentals: matching, electromigration, latch-up, coupling/crosstalk, IR-drop, parasitics.
• Understand layout impact on speed, capacitance, power and area; implement design constraints reliably.
• Experience leading or coordinating multiple layout projects and quality checks under project schedules.
• Strong problem-solving skills in physical verification of custom layouts.

Education Requirements

BE or MTech in Electronics/VLSI Engineering or a related technical field is specified in the posting.
