Senior Engineer, FPGA Design
Role Summary
Design and implement embedded digital FPGA solutions that interface with high-speed converter products. Work within a cross-functional team to define, develop, verify, and document FPGA designs and support system bring-up and customer deliverables. Focus areas include industrial, instrumentation, automotive, healthcare, communications, and aerospace/defense applications.

Senior-level (experienced).
Responsibilities
The role combines FPGA architecture, HDL development, system integration, documentation, and customer support.
- Architect FPGA designs targeting ADI high-speed converter technology.
- Develop HDL (VHDL/Verilog) designs on FPGA evaluation and demonstration platforms.
- Support hardware and software teams during system definition, bring-up, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting.
- Create design documentation, application notes, how-to guides, and technical articles.
- Provide technical support to customers and field personnel and assist with trainings.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, tools, and capabilities. Education items are listed separately below.
- Proven digital design experience with VHDL and/or Verilog.
- Experience with hardware, HDL and software debugging and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with embedded processors (e.g., ARM, MicroBlaze, Nios) and embedded software (Linux and bare-metal).
- Experience with Xilinx, Intel/Altera, or Lattice FPGAs and associated toolchains.
- Knowledge of analog, linear, and mixed-signal circuit fundamentals relevant to converter interfacing.
- Hands-on experience with electronics measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum/network analyzers, signal generators, multimeters).
- Scripting skills (Perl, Tcl) and shell scripting for automation and toolflow integration.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within engineering teams.
- Willingness to travel domestically/internationally up to approximately 10% of the time.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering (EE), Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), or a closely related technical field - or equivalent relevant practical experience.
