Role Summary

Develop and test firmware subsystems for SSD products to meet performance, endurance, capacity, functionality, quality, and reliability targets. Work within the firmware development organization on product integration, validation, and cross-functional collaboration at Micron's Singapore site.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities cover firmware implementation, testing, integration, and team collaboration.

  • Design, implement, debug, and modify firmware and firmware subsystems for SSD products to meet technical specifications.
  • Develop and run unit and functional firmware tests to ensure quality and performance at each product integration milestone.
  • Troubleshoot firmware and work with analog/digital hardware and software operating systems during development and validation.
  • Provide clear, timely technical and project status updates to management and cross-functional teams.
  • Integrate AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency and quality where appropriate.
  • Contribute to team development by sharing technical expertise and supporting continuous improvement.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; items listed as advantages are indicated.

  • Experience with firmware/embedded programming in C and embedded debugging.
  • Familiarity with machine/assembly languages and high-level languages (e.g., Python) for tooling and testing.
  • Experience with storage interfaces; knowledge of PCIe/NVMe is a plus.
  • Experience with NAND flash memory is an advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to apply baseline digital fluency and role-appropriate AI literacy to use AI-enabled tools responsibly and effectively.

Education Requirements

Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Engineering. The posting also notes that 2 years of equivalent experience in embedded systems development is considered an advantage.
