Job Title

Senior Engineer, Failure Analysis (NTI)

Role Summary

As a Yield Failure Analysis Engineer in Micron's NAND Technology Integration (NTI) Singapore team, you will lead physical and electrical failure analysis to identify root causes of yield issues for next-generation products. You will become a domain expert in physical failure analysis and work with product development and process integration to improve device yield.

Key activities include electrical characterization, de-processing PFA, data analysis, and developing new FA methodologies and capabilities.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The posting requests 4–10 years of experience in Failure Analysis or PFA; the role expects an experienced engineer able to lead FA initiatives and present to global teams.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include performing failure analysis, driving yield improvements, and collaborating across functions.

  • Perform electrical characterization and verification to confirm and localize failures.
  • Execute physical failure analysis and de-processing techniques to determine root causes.
  • Develop and deploy new FA methodologies and capabilities to enhance yield.
  • Analyze parametric, probe, and fabrication data to identify failure sources.
  • Collaborate with metrology, RDA, product development, and process integration teams; present findings in global meetings.
  • Support transfer of layout and architecture fundamentals from R&D to manufacturing fabs.
  • Integrate AI-assisted tools and insights to improve efficiency and analysis quality while complying with standards.
  • Follow health, safety, and environmental procedures.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience for immediate contribution; additional technical skills are desirable.

  • 4–10 years' experience in Failure Analysis or PFA, including electrical characterization and verification.
  • Practical experience with PFA/de-processing techniques and root cause identification.
  • Ability to analyze probe, parametric, and fabrication data and communicate findings to cross-functional teams.
  • Proven track record driving FA initiatives and delivering new methodologies.
  • Strong collaboration and presentation skills for global interactions.
  • Nice-to-have: programming experience (Python, C/C++, JavaScript), familiarity with Windows and Linux environments, JMP statistical software, and experience with metrology or RDA tools.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
