Job Title

Senior Engineer, Embedded Software

Role Summary

Develop embedded software for Analog Devices' Datacenters & Energy products as part of the Software and Digital Platforms group in Cork, Ireland. The role focuses on secure, reliable, real-time embedded systems that enable intelligent power management for datacentres.

Work on bare-metal and RTOS-based systems across device drivers, services, and embedded applications; collaborate with hardware and systems teams to deliver production software.

Experience Level

Senior β€” 5+ years of industry experience in real-time embedded systems development.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include design, implementation, and delivery of embedded software and support for hardware bring-up.

  • Write high-quality embedded software in C/C++ for production systems.
  • Develop across the stack: bare metal and RTOS-based implementations, device drivers, services, and applications.
  • Own features or subsystems from design through delivery and maintenance.
  • Support silicon and board bring-up and debug issues on hardware and in simulation.
  • Participate in design and code reviews and uphold coding standards and best practices.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers through reviews and pairing.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience, plus desirable additions.

Must-have:

  • Strong proficiency in C and C++ for embedded systems.
  • Good understanding of RTOS and bare-metal system design and implementation.
  • Proven track record delivering production embedded systems.
  • Experience debugging software on real hardware and in simulation environments.
  • Experience supporting silicon and board bring-up activities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with electrical power control systems.
  • Experience with Zephyr or similar embedded RTOS.
  • Experience with embedded security (secure boot, secure communications).
  • Familiarity with software development using AI tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude).
  • Experience with Agile workflows such as Scrum or Kanban.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science is required (per minimum candidate requirements).
