Senior Engineer, Embedded Software

Role Summary

Join ADI's customer-facing solutions team to develop embedded device drivers, middleware, and applications that integrate ADI products with embedded processors and FPGAs. The role supports industrial automation, instrumentation, automotive, communications, and aerospace & defence applications.

Work in a cross-functional team to define, implement, document, and support software modules for a global customer base.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The posting indicates a minimum of 5 years of relevant embedded software experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Architect, develop, and maintain Linux, Zephyr, and bare-metal device drivers and software for processor-, FPGA-, and microcontroller-based platforms.
  • Develop system-level applications for high-performance communication systems.
  • Implement middleware and application code to interface ADI products with embedded processors and FPGAs.
  • Document software modules and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Provide technical and customer support for ADI's global customers.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Proficiency in C, C++, Python, and shell scripting.
  • Experience with embedded Linux and RTOS-based systems (Zephyr or similar).
  • Experience with source-code management (Git, SVN), cross-compilers, and in-circuit debugging tools.
  • Strong software design, analytical debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid understanding of electronics and embedded systems.
  • Ability to read and work with large, complex technical documentation.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Nice-to-have: direct FPGA integration experience and experience with high-performance communication systems.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's (BS) or Master's (MS) degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science is specified. The posting indicates a minimum of 5 years of relevant embedded software experience.
