Senior Engineer, Embedded Design
Role Summary
Embedded Software Engineer in the Systems Integration Group (SIG) developing firmware and system software for internal assembly and test equipment. Work in a cross-disciplinary, global team to design, build, debug, and maintain hardware‑interfacing software running on bare metal and Linux platforms.

Responsibilities
Develop and support embedded and interface software, collaborate with electrical, controls, and mechanical engineers, and validate hardware/software integration.
- Design and implement firmware in C/C++ for microcontrollers and compute modules; develop hardware interface code in C++ and Python.
- Work in multi-disciplinary teams to define requirements, review schematics, and provide input on PCB design.
- Prototype circuits, debug analog and digital hardware, and use lab equipment for bring-up, characterization, and test.
- Automate tests and create user libraries and technical documentation.
- Support and maintain existing equipment and next‑generation memory tester development.
- Integrate AI-assisted tools and methods to improve development efficiency while following organizational and legal standards.
- Communicate technical issues clearly in written and spoken form.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and practical abilities for day-to-day execution.
- Proficiency in C and C++ for embedded development.
- Familiarity with Python for scripting and hardware interface tasks.
- Experience developing and debugging embedded software and hardware interfaces, including bring-up and characterization.
- Hands-on use of lab instruments (oscilloscope, DMM, SMU) for debugging and testing.
- Familiarity reading and using schematics; ability to test and debug PCB-level issues.
- Preferred: experience with embedded software toolchains, Linux, and the GNU toolchain; familiarity with PCB layout and embedded development tools.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
