Job Title

Senior Engineer, DFT

Role Summary

Senior DFT engineer in the Custom Compute and Storage business unit responsible for implementing and verifying design-for-test (DFT) architectures for complex SoCs. The role focuses on DFT insertion, verification, and methodology support across local and global teams to meet customer requirements and production readiness.

Experience Level

Senior — title indicates senior level. The posting requests approximately 2+ years of experience in Design for Test (DFT) design flows.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include owning DFT flow and delivering DFT features from insertion through verification.

  • Own and drive DFT design flow for assigned blocks and chips, from insertion to signoff.
  • Implement and verify scan/compression, MBIST, boundary-scan (BSCAN) and ATPG solutions.
  • Develop and maintain DFT scripts, flows, and methodology in collaboration with global DFT teams.
  • Integrate DFT with verification environments and simulation tools to validate test coverage and fault detection.
  • Work cross-functionally with RTL designers, verification, physical design, and validation teams to resolve DFT issues and achieve tape-out readiness.
  • Provide technical guidance and documentation for DFT insertion, test plans, and signoff criteria.

Requirements

Key technical skills and practical experience required; items labeled "Must-have" are essential.

  • Must-have: 2+ years hands-on experience in Design for Test (DFT) design flows.
  • Must-have: Practical expertise with scan/compression, MBIST, BSCAN, and ATPG methodologies.
  • Must-have: Hands-on experience with Siemens Tessent and simulation tools such as VCS, ModelSim, or Xcelium.
  • Must-have: Effective English communication and ability to collaborate with distributed teams.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience contributing to DFT methodology development or EDA tool automation.
  • Other: Ability to satisfy export-control eligibility checks where required.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Other disciplines will be considered with relevant electronics or DFT experience.
