Job Title
Senior Engineer, Design Verification Engineering
Role Summary
Member of the Consumer Audio design verification team responsible for verification of digital blocks in mixed-signal SoCs for hearables, hearing health and prosumer audio products. The role owns testbench architecture, testplan development, verification execution and coverage closure across IP and SoC levels.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Guidance: 5β8 years of progressive experience in digital design and verification.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include ownership of verification deliverables from block to system level and participation in post-silicon activities.
- Verify digital blocks in mixed-signal SoCs targeted for consumer markets.
- Own testbench architecture, testplan, testbench development, and coverage closure (functional and code).
- Develop and use UVM-based and constrained-random methodologies; create functional coverpoints and assertions.
- Integrate block-level testbenches at SoC level and verify SoC integration.
- Debug issues efficiently and communicate gating issues to engineering leads.
- Support post-silicon activities including silicon bring-up, evaluation support, and ATE pattern bring-up.
- Explore and apply ML techniques to accelerate verification turnaround.
Requirements
Key technical skills and experience. Must-have items are listed first; additional desirable skills follow.
-
Must-have: Demonstrated experience building UVM-based testbench infrastructure from the ground up, including functional coverpoint development, coverage analysis/closure, and assertion development.
-
Must-have: Experience in both IP and SoC level verification and familiarity with gate-level simulation flows.
-
Must-have: Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, Perl, Makefiles).
-
Must-have: Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal direction and to collaborate across globally distributed teams; strong interpersonal and communication skills.
-
Nice-to-have: Knowledge of AHB/AXI/APB protocols.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with power-aware simulation or formal verification.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with HW emulation or FPGA prototyping.
-
Nice-to-have: Familiarity with DSP concepts and tools such as MATLAB or Octave.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related technical field; 5β8 years of progressive experience in digital design and verification.
