Senior Engineer, Design Evaluation
Analog DevicesJob Title
Senior Engineer, Design Evaluation
Role Summary
Member of the Consumer Audio Business Unit responsible for silicon bring-up, validation, characterization and debug of mixed-signal ICs. Work closely with hardware, embedded software, and cross-functional teams to execute validation plans, assess silicon performance, and drive product readiness.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 5β8 years of relevant experience in pre- and post-silicon validation, characterization, or related engineering roles.
Responsibilities
Execute validation and characterization tasks from block to system level and support debug and product readiness.
- Contribute to silicon bring-up, validation, and debug at block and system levels.
- Execute validation plans and help define test coverage.
- Perform characterization measurements and evaluate silicon performance.
- Debug silicon issues and drive root-cause analysis with cross-functional teams.
- Validate system functionality with embedded software teams and correlate simulation with silicon behavior.
- Document validation results and produce engineering reports.
- Support resolution of silicon issues impacting product readiness.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate contribution; preferred items listed where applicable.
- Must-have: Practical experience in pre- and post-silicon validation and characterization of mixed-signal ICs.
- Must-have: Hands-on use of lab equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies, logic analyzers).
- Must-have: Experience validating analog and mixed-signal blocks (ADC/DAC, amplifiers, Buck regulators, LDOs).
- Must-have: Working knowledge of embedded systems programming to validate system-level functionality.
- Must-have: Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills across hardware and mixed-signal systems.
- Must-have: Clear written and verbal communication skills for documentation and cross-team collaboration.
- Preferred: Prior experience in consumer audio silicon or similar product domains.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.
- May require export-licensing review for certain applicants; eligibility constraints can apply.
