Senior Engineer, Design Enablement (PDK)
Role Summary
Develop and maintain Process Design Kits (PDKs) and associated automation for Foundry processes to enable customer ASIC design flows. Work with process, modeling, and EDA teams to translate process rules and SPICE models into validated, production-ready PDK components.

Responsibilities
Own development, verification, and delivery of PDK components and supporting automation; ensure quality and correct usage guidance for customers.
- Develop, deploy, support, and maintain Process Design Kits (PDKs) including techfiles and runtime code for EDA tools.
- Create automation tools that represent the fab process and support EDA runtimes.
- Review and interpret process design rules and SPICE model documentation to produce PDK specification data.
- Create and maintain test cases for DRC, LVS, PEX and other PDK validation, and perform quality assurance checks.
- Produce and update release notes and application notes documenting limitations, known issues, and recommended usage.
- Collaborate with process, modeling, EDA, and customer support teams on cross-functional projects and deliveries.
- Adhere to Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements in all work activities.
- Deliver high-quality, feature-rich PDK releases to customers.
Requirements
Core technical skills and experience required to perform the role.
- Practical experience developing or supporting PDKs or equivalent EDA flow components.
- Familiarity with EDA tool runtimes and the formats used by DRC, LVS, PEX and SPICE-based flows.
- Experience creating and executing validation test cases and performing QA for PDK deliveries.
- Ability to interpret process design rules and SPICE/model documentation and translate them into specifications for PDK development.
- Experience building and maintaining automation to generate or validate PDK data and tool runtimes.
- Strong collaboration, documentation, and technical communication skills (release notes, application notes).
- Attention to detail and a methodical approach to ensuring error-free deliveries to customers.
Education Requirements
Requires a technical (university) degree. Typical combinations shown in the source: BS with 2β4 years relevant experience, MS with 1β3 years, or PhD with 0β1 year. Specific field not listed beyond 'technical' degree.
