Senior Engineer, Design Enablement (Parasitic Extraction)
Role Summary
Develop and maintain parasitic extraction (PEX) components and methodologies as part of Process Design Kits (PDKs) for GlobalFoundries RF and specialty technologies. Work within the Design and Technology Enablement team to ensure PEX solutions accurately model fabrication processes and meet customer and business requirements.
Experience Level
Senior level role. The posting targets experienced engineers with background in semiconductor processes, EDA flows, or related engineering domains.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include development, validation and support of PEX components and flows:
- Develop and maintain Parasitic Extraction (PEX) components within PDKs for RF and other technologies.
- Model semiconductor fabrication process behavior within PEX solutions to ensure accuracy of extracted parasitics.
- Collaborate with EDA tool vendors to integrate and improve PEX tools and resolve technical issues.
- Investigate and resolve customer-reported issues related to PEX PDK components.
- Work with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver validated PEX solutions that meet customer and business needs.
- Develop and support automation solutions to improve PEX development, validation, and QA.
- Contribute to PEX methodologies, flows, and quality standards and perform validation activities.
Requirements

- Must-have: Fundamental knowledge of semiconductor technology and device/process concepts.
- Must-have: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Preferred / highly valuable: Experience with Parasitic Extraction (PEX), Physical Verification or LVS flows.
- Preferred: Experience in the semiconductor industry or with EDA tool flows.
- Preferred: Experience collaborating with EDA vendors and troubleshooting toolchain issues.
Education Requirements
University degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
