Works on circuit analysis, verification, layout supervision, and cross-functional integration with digital/RTL and technology teams.
Experience Level
Senior - experienced engineer (title indicates senior level). Relevant industry experience expected per degree level (see Education Requirements).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on custom circuit design, performance optimization, and cross-team integration for NAND/Flash products.
- Design and optimize NAND core circuits: row/column drivers, sense amplifiers, and control circuitry.
- Perform circuit analysis and optimization from base-cell level through full-chip integration using SPICE and fast-simulation flows.
- Drive block- and subsystem-level design, timing optimization, verification, and layout supervision.
- Collaborate with Logic/RTL teams to define and integrate Flash array functionality with digital logic.
- Develop integrated analog/mixed-signal solutions combining custom circuits and digital/RTL techniques.
- Define full-chip floorplan and ensure optimal placement and integration of core circuits with project teams.
- Partner with Technology teams to finalize array operating conditions and waveforms.
- Use scripting and automation to accelerate design, simulation, validation, and data analysis; apply AI-enabled methods where applicable.
- Mentor junior engineers and maintain block/subsystem design documentation and specifications.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and domain knowledge.
- Strong knowledge of analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design.
- Deep understanding of CMOS device physics, circuit behavior, and reliability mechanisms.
- Strong understanding of Flash/NAND memory architecture, cell-array functionality, and core circuit operation.
- Hands-on experience with circuit simulation and verification tools (examples: HSPICE, FastSPICE, NC-Verilog) and full-chip integration workflows.
- Experience in timing optimization, timing closure, and layout supervision at block/subsystem level.
- Proficiency with scripting/automation to improve design and validation throughput.
- Ability to collaborate across analog, digital, and technology teams and produce design documentation (Micro-Architecture Specifications).
- Mentoring and leadership skills to guide junior engineers.
Education Requirements
MS with 2 years of relevant semiconductor industry experience, or BS with 4 to 6 years of relevant semiconductor industry experience.
