Senior Engineer - DEMQRA Central Param / Characterization

Role Summary

Support Global high-volume-manufacturing (HVM) fabs by managing param business processes and developing and deploying electrical device characterization programs. Transfer test methodologies and param programs from Technology Development to HVM during new-product introduction (NPI).

Work closely with Device Characterization, HVM Quality, Process Integration, Process Development, Central Planning and Global Quality teams to align test equipment, software and algorithms.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Typical experience per job posting: Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years relevant experience or Master’s degree with 3+ years relevant experience in semiconductor device characterization/engineering.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Perform electrical characterization and testing of NAND and DRAM arrays, CMOS devices and interconnects.
• Define, optimize and manage param business processes for the global HVM fab network.
• Support NPI through param technology transfer from TD to HVM.
• Deploy new test methodologies and align test equipment hardware requirements, param software and test algorithms with TD.
• Develop and deploy electrical device characterization programs and param programs for HVM.
• Coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure measurement and data requirements are met.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

• Strong background in semiconductor device physics, electrical characterization, processing and instrumentation.
• Deep understanding of device operation in memory systems (NAND, DRAM, storage-class and other memories).
• Experience operating and automating semiconductor instrumentation: parameter analyzers, SPA, SMU, LCR meters, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, pulse/waveform generators, wafer probers, ATE and bench systems.
• Proficiency in Python and C/C++; experience with Unix/Linux environments.
• Experience defining electrical characterization methods and developing test algorithms.
• Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Nice-to-have: experience managing param business processes and aligning test-equipment/tool-of-record requirements across sites.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years’ experience or Master’s degree plus 3+ years’ experience in Semiconductor Device Characterization / Engineering. Preferred fields: Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics or Materials Science Engineering. (No certifications were specified.)
