Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Act as senior technical escalation point and lead debugging for complex PD issues across synthesis, place-and-route, and post-route closure.
- Troubleshoot implementation and EDA tool problems and identify engineering or flow-level fixes and workarounds.
- Advise customers on PD recipes and implementation strategies to meet Power, Performance, and Area (PPA) targets.
- Develop and maintain user guides, application notes, and reference physical implementation flows.
- Collaborate with support leadership, R&D, and platform engineering to relay technical feedback and improve tools and flows.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- 4+ years hands-on experience in the digital Physical Design flow, covering synthesis through place-and-route to post-route signoff.
- Strong analytical and debugging skills for implementation and EDA tool issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; able to translate technical findings into clear guidance for customers and internal teams.
- Proven ability to act as a technical escalation point and work cross-functionally.
Nice-to-have:
- Background in applications engineering or technical support within the semiconductor or EDA industry.
- Hands-on experience with industry-standard tools (for example Synopsys Fusion Compiler/ICC2, Cadence Innovus, Genus).
- Proficiency in scripting (TCL, Python) to automate debugging and analyze design databases.
Education Requirements
