Lead DFT Engineer
Role Summary
Lead the design-for-test (DFT) implementation for complex SoC/ASIC subsystems, driving RTL-to-silicon DFT activities and collaborating with design, physical design, verification, and post-silicon teams to ensure testability and manufacturability.
Experience Level
Senior β 5β8 years of experience in core DFT engineering.
Responsibilities
Lead and deliver DFT across block and subsystem levels, from integration through silicon debug.
- Lead end-to-end DFT implementation for SoC subsystems.
- Drive DFT RTL integration and verification activities.
- Manage cross-functional coordination for DFT deliverables.
- Implement full-scan DFT methodologies and optimize scan insertion and compression techniques.
- Execute ATPG flows to achieve required fault coverage.
- Define and implement MBIST architectures and repair flows; support LBIST planning and implementation.
- Ensure compliance with Boundary Scan / JTAG requirements and iJTAG (IEEE 1687) usage.
- Apply low-power DFT methodologies and perform testability analysis.
- Support silicon debug and failure analysis.

Must-have:
- 5β8 years of hands-on experience in core DFT for SoC/ASIC designs.
- Strong expertise with ATPG and LBIST methodologies.
- Practical experience in scan insertion and compression.
- Hands-on experience with iJTAG (IEEE 1687).
- Experience with MBIST architectures and repair flows.
- Knowledge of Boundary Scan / JTAG standards (IEEE 1149.1, 1500, 1687).
- Exposure to low-power DFT concepts and testability analysis.
- Experience in silicon debug and failure analysis; strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience driving DFT signoff activities and production silicon bring-up.
Education Requirements
B.Tech or M.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, or a related engineering field.
