Job Title
Senior Engineer
Role Summary
Work on ASIC implementation and physical design for Arm CPU cores, interconnects and related IP. The role focuses on improving power, performance, area and system integration by developing and deploying implementation methodologies and collaborating with internal teams and partners.
Experience Level
Senior β guidance in the posting: 4β8 years of relevant industry experience.
Responsibilities
Accountable for end-to-end implementation, analysis and methodology development to achieve high-quality silicon results.
- Synthesis, floorplanning, place-and-route, CTS and full implementation of CPU cores, interconnects and SoC blocks.
- Analyze timing, area and power; drive timing closure and PPAT (power, performance, area, timing) improvements.
- Optimize flows and methodologies; develop and deploy new implementation techniques and automations.
- Perform implementation analysis and develop data-mining methodologies for results improvement.
- Collaborate with RTL, implementation and physical IP teams to drive optimizations.
- Translate R&D concepts into practical implementation solutions and enable partners to improve quality of results.
Requirements
Must-have
- 4β8 years experience in ASIC implementation, physical design, STA and timing closure, structured clock tree, PDN analysis, DFM and physical verification.
- Experience across synthesis, top/block-level implementation, floorplanning, place-and-route, CTS, logical and physical optimization, timing closure and power analysis flows.
- Proven programming and scripting skills (examples: Tcl, Perl, Python, Make).
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills; experience promoting new implementation techniques across teams.
Nice-to-have
- Familiarity with Arm-based SoC designs.
- Experience with additional scripting/languages and data presentation tools (e.g., shell, R, C/C++, Java, JS, HTML, Ruby).
- Low-power design techniques (power gating, voltage/frequency scaling) and Verilog RTL design experience.
- Experience with ATPG tools or production testing.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other relevant technical fields.
